Built to very strict and high standards these hoods are made with 100% high strength, aerospace grade carbon fiber using a vacuum infusion process that insures the optimum fiber to resin ratio (dry carbon), for the best balance of high strength and low weight. Along with the best materials and manufacturing techniques possible, we also re-engineered the skeleton portion of the hood to reduce support material not necessary on a carbon fiber hood to reduce the weight as much as possible down to around 8.2lbs, making it over 25% lighter than the $20k+ oem GT2rs carbon hood and over 50% lighter than the stock aluminum hood. These hoods are hand made to order and can be made with our standard 12K aerospace carbon weave which has a slightly larger weave pattern, or we can add a layer of 3K twill weave to match other oem carbon parts on your car. For the NACA ducts on this hood we have reproduced direct carbon fiber copies of the OEM plastic duct inserts. This hood can be optioned with no duct inserts at all, so you can leave them open, install the oem plastic pieces, or install generic ducts. If you choose to option your hood with our ducts, we will epoxy them in place and finish the edges prior to clear coating for a seamless finish. Because the OEM ducts were made to work with the additional duct work only on the 911 cup cars, if you choose to add our duct inserts to your hood, we can leave them full sized if you have this additional duct work on your car, or we can cut them short to fit the cowl panels on the non cup cars. Just leave a note on your checkout screen if you want them full size or short.
